What is the Candidate Academy?

The SnoValley Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Candidate Academy, a unique, nonpartisan workshop designed for local, civic-minded individuals who are considering running for elected office or serving in an appointed role.

This one-day program will help participants explore whether public service is right for them — and how to take the next step. Attendees will hear directly from current and former elected officials, campaign professionals, and community advocates who will share their experiences and insights into what it really takes to run a campaign and serve effectively.

The Academy will cover:

• How to decide whether to run for office

• The realities of campaigning — fundraising, messaging, and compliance

• The differences between local, county, and state-level positions

• Building a network of support and understanding your community’s needs

Participants will walk away better prepared to make informed decisions, contribute meaningfully to civic life, and, if they choose to run, launch a campaign grounded in integrity and service.
