What You'll Learn: This 3-Day Beginner Crochet Course is an approachable, hands-on introduction designed for students with zero prior experience. Over three sessions, students will learn how to use basic tools, create essential stitches, read simple patterns, and complete a finished project. By the end of the course, students will have completed a crocheted dishcloth and gained the foundational skills to move confidently into more advanced projects such as scarves, granny squares, and full patterns.
Session 1 (May 14th): Learn tools, vocabulary, how to hold the hook, controlling tension, yarn handling, slip knots, and chains.
Session 2 (May 21st): Learn single crochet, turning chain, half-double, double crochet, stitch counting, recognizing and rectifying common mistakes.
Session 3 (May 28th): Learn pattern types, make a small project, finish a piece.
Skill Level/Age Range: Beginner/ 12+
Student Instructions: none
Materials Needed: Megan will provide the hooks and yarn needed for the first session. Students will be instructed on materials needed for the second and third sessions (hook, yarn, scissors, measuring tape, tapestry needle, stitch marker).
