In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, you will learn how to spin your very own yarn using a wooden drop spindle—a simple, beautiful tool that has been used for thousands of years across cultures and continents.

As part of this class, you will learn:

• How to set up your spindle with a leader string

• How to draft and prep fiber for spinning

• How to spin and wind yarn onto your spindle

• How to ply your yarn

• Tips for consistent spinning and managing twist

Whether you're a curious beginner, a homesteader, or a fiber enthusiast eager to expand your skills, this workshop invites you to slow down, connect with your hands, and discover the meditative magic of spinning yarn.

Throughout the class, Michelle shares the rich history of fiber spinning, along with heartwarming stories from her own life as a spinner, shepherd, and fiber artist. You’ll come away not only with new skills, but with a deeper appreciation for this heritage art and its place in our modern lives.

No experience necessary—all are welcome! Just bring your curiosity, your hands, and your love for learning.
