What You'll Learn: This class focuses on nature-based learning rooted in observation, curiosity, and respect for the environment, while learning creative photography. The course includes visual storytelling using age-appropriate tools (from simple cameras to mindful observations). Students will engage in hands-on exploration of nature that can include bugs, plants, animals, textures, light, and seasonal changes.
All participants will receive a Nature Observation Card, Field Prompt Card and Beginner Photography Tip Sheet.
Skill Level/Age Range: Beginner / Ages 8-11
Student Instructions: Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Dress for Northwest weather (layers or rain gear). Bring your cellphone (or camera) and a water bottle.
Note: This nature walk will take approximately 2 hours. Parents/adults will drop off and pick up kids at the location noted above.
Materials Needed: Bring your own camera (cell phone or digital camera).
